OH NO! That is not a fate I would wish on anyone. So, maybe you should become an awesome dog lady instead? I like dogs. My dogs have always been niceer and cuter than my cats.
One of my dogs is a chiuaua(she is totally not what you would expect) She doesn't need to be walked hardly at all! Our other dog is a high energy labrador mix, who requires daily walks and multiple potty breaks a day. So, yeah. They can be a big commitment, but they honestly love you a whole lot more than cats do. Sad but true.
Oh, I already know how it is with cats. I've had plenty.
Dogs have owners. Cats have staff.
I find cats tend to be more willing to cuddle and read/play video games, though. And when you litterbox-train them it is less horrifying to scooper their poopers.

Heh heh true. My dog loves watching TV. She gets a bit worried when there are other dogs on TV though, and never lets her eyes off of them. When they go offscreen she panics and runs around... I also think that Dogs are a bit smarter than cats, cause they LEARN. Cats rarely do, it seems. Long story short, Sage(our big black pretty dog) is a genius. Really.
Cats don't learn? Maybe they're not quite as smart as dogs, but they are pretty darn smart. They won't do tricks for you, most of the time, but they'll learn to control "their" humans. My kitty has us all whipped. And when she wants a door open, she'll put her paws up on it and stretch one paw toward the doorknob- it's her symbol for "I want the door open". She also figured out how to open screen doors, apparently, but I've never seen her do it... only the results. She can't pull them back open...
She's a bit weird, though. We only recently got her fixed so she could start going outside, and she hasn't figured out that most of the world is a potential litterbox. She'll howl to get back inside just to use her box
But everyone thinks their pet is a genius.

Our cats live outside. One of them used to sit by the back door and occasionally lunge at the glass and smack into it like a bird. She did this at least once a week--just to make sure the glass was still there. And our back door has decorative bars across it. I felt so sorry for her…Anywho, I wish my cat was a little sharper, but I don't think she's a genius.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. WHAT?
Also, cats do not require walking. If I'm going to be a crazy old cat lady, that's a good thing...
