Artist's Comments
I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest something.
I'm going to suggest that deviantART start encouraging people to be creative rather than the opposite. There is actually a fan art "vector" category now. I know not all vectors are crappy anime screenshot traces, but this just seems to encourage it more. BEFORE YOU RAGE AT ME FOR SAYING VECTORS AREN'T ART: That's not what I'm saying. XD Vectors are an art form. The problem is that people often call their traced bullshit "vector art" in order to make it sound fancy and acceptable. .__. I have even seen people do this when they didn't actually use a vector program to trace. Sad, deviantART. Just plain sad. Wow. EDIT: Added a few more frames for your enjoyment If you are against tracing please join |

crank dat 'ttebayooo
I signed your petiton a while back but to be honest, I doubt it'll get us anywhere. deviantART generally doesn't listen to petitions.
Probably because, like the aforementioned "artist," they can't handle the truth.

Did you read =budgie's journal about this?

"Fool me once; shame on you.
Fool me twice; shame on me."
I think their mainconcern though was for copyright infringement lawsuits, so they can now speak out: But its there, so noone claims its their own stuff...
I encourage people to draw and not to copy 100 percent. And I think thats more important then going on a rampage about how bad vector art is.

There is a special level of hell reserved for child molestors, and people who talk in the theater.
