For those of you who, like me, are sick and tired of hearing parents whine.

Dear parents: There are game ratings for a reason. Read the back of the box. If you can open the box, check out the instruction book. Better yet, ask you friendly store clerk what kind of content is in the game, and if they think there is anything inappropriate for little Timmy in it. The internet is also a wonderful resource.

It's just like movies. You really don't have much wiggle room here, so stop whining.

This has never been a close-to-home problem for me because both of my parents have good heads on their shoulders and play video games, and I'd like to think I've come out similarly sensible.

But it really steams my vegetables when I hear about some kid committing a violent crime and the adults in the situation try to blame it on video games Harry Potter books or TV or Dungeons and Dragons or something stupid like that.

Violent kids existed before any of the aforementioned media, and let me tell ya, adults haven't always been much better.

The good news: Jack Thompson got disbarred!
